Breathe

The importance of breath cannot be overstated.

A full, complete breath has immeasurable benefits.  Nothing is better for physical or mental health than a full, undisturbed breath.  We all know breathing is essential for life.  Seems obvious, right?

So why do we all have difficulty with it?

It comes down to awareness.  The quality of our thoughts, the focus of our mind, whether or not we're in danger and more.  We do not have to be in actual danger, simply the thought of or a situation that is similar to one we've been in before can disturb the breath.

When we're young children, we do not have this problem.  Children breathe diaphragmatically on their own.  It's a natural instinct.  As we age and acquire experiences in the process, those experiences leave an imprint in the mind.  Those imprints, whether conscious or unconscious, are reflected in the body.

The breath is the bridge between the body and mind.  As such, it is an indicator of our health and emotional well-being.

So when was the last time you took a deep breath?

Probably when you needed to calm down!  But why wait until you need to calm down?  What if you could take a full, diaphragmatic breath with each breath?  Sounds difficult but it doesn't have to be.

I prepared a YouTube video which instructs you how to accomplish this!  Check it out and leave comments on my channel or below the fold.
